Paneer Pasanda is an easy-to-cook indian food that could be enjoyed very well with Naan/Roti(Bread). If you could manage to get ginger-garlic, onion and cashewnut paste from nearby indian store, this indian recipe of Paneer pasanda becomes very easy. Here, in indian homes, people have options of either making pastes at home or getting it from market.


Paneer pasanda is basically a north indian food, tasty and delicious. A vegetarian would love to eat paneer pasanda.


Use of butter in this indian recipe could be done based on your choice.


Paneer pasanda recipe ingredients (indian recipe)



  • Paneer - 400 gms (cut into broad slices)

  • Cornflour - 1/2 cup

  • Garlic / Ginger paste - 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp

  • Onion paste - 1/2 cup

  • Cashewnut paste - 2 tbsp

  • Tomato puree - 2 cups

  • Fresh cream - 1/2 cup (optional)

  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp

  • Oil/butter - 2 tbsp  and for deep frying

  • Salt to taste

Prepare a thick cornflour batter and dip paneer pieces in the batter and then deep fry in moderate hot oil till crisp. Remove and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion paste and cook for 2 minutes. Add ginger/garlic paste chilli powder and garam masala powder. Cook for a minute. Add tomato puree and bring to boil. Add cashewnut paste dissolved in a little water. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir constantly and add salt. Add one cup water and bring to boil. Add fresh cream and fried paneer pieces and serve hot paneer pasanda with Naan/roti.
